Our Life Together
We are four season people.  We love the Winter as much as we love the Summer.  In the Wintertime we like to spend quite a few weekends riding snowmobiles.  Patty likes to ski too but Mike's knees aren't up to the challenge.  Summertime you'll find us out on our boat - tubing, airchairing and wakeboarding.

The Spring and Fall is the time for us to do some projects around the house and get some work done! :-)  Mike is incredibly handy around the house.  We both get a sense of accomplishment from turning this house into a home we can be proud of.

We have a wondertul life and we can't wait to share it with a child.  Our childhoods were great, raised by awesome parents who offered us love and support.  They have inspired us to be amazing parents.  We can't wait for the adventure to continue.  Will the child have their own kiddy snowmobile before they can walk?  Probably (Mike can't wait)  Will they have every opportunity we can offer them?  Yes!  Will they have discipline and structure and will they need to eat their vegetables?  Yes!

We look forward to raising our child in a loving, stable and sometimes silly home.  When we come home from our day, we enjoy cooking dinner together and sharing our day with each other.  We enjoy a night at home, staying in to watch a movie or play a game of Scrabble.

We want to raise our child as we were raised:  playing outside in the Summer till your Dad whistles to bring you home (and you can tell which whistle is for you!), family vacations like a week at the beach, romping in the woods and building forts, sledding in the Winter till you can't feel your toes and our moms making us hot chocolate with real marshmallows to warm us up.
Our Families....

Patty's parents live less then 2 hours away.  Mum Joan and Papa Dick, as they are known by their grandsons, know how much this baby will be welcomed into the family.  (Patty's Mom is secretly praying for a granddaughter.)  Patty is just like her Mom - is that a good thing?  LOL  Patty will use her parents as an example of what good parenting should be.  To always feel loved, and safe and supported in all of her decisions, was the greatest gift a parent could give.  Patty has one brother who currently lives in Texas with his wife and their four wild boys.  He's in the Air Force so Patty has traveled all over the world visiting where ever they have lived (including Guam, Hawaii and Oklahoma.)  She's loved her role as "Aunt Patty."  Her brother is one of her all time favorite people in the whole world and wishes they all lived closer.

Mike parents have recently moved to their favorite place in the woods.  Moving several times through out their lives from New Jersey to Paris France and back to the U.S., the woods and mountains were always like home.  Both Mike and his sister Carolyn grew up enjoying the mountains with them.  Mike's Mom is anxiously awaiting a grandchild.  She was an elementary school librarian and can't wait to share her love of books with her grandchildren.  Mike's Dad secretly looks forward to pulling Grandpa duty too.  He has a unique energy to teach anything, be it building a cabin (which he did when Mike was 5 and is probably why Mike is an architect) or just the simple things like crock-pot cooking.  Mike's parents taught Mike and his sister about all the possibilities in life and showed them some of the incredible wonders of the world, which made them the people they are.  Mike's sister is a successful interior designer (Who knew two analytical parents could create 2 creative children.)    She and her husband Chuck spend time in the city and their home in the woods.  Carolyn and Chuck are also in the process of adoption.  Hopefully the future cousins will have an extra bond.

Where we live.....

We own our home in the suburbs of NYC.  We love the small town feel of where we live with the "big city" not too far away for culture and museums.  Our house backs up to the town park so right outside our back door you'll find lots of trees with hiking trails that will lead to the town pool and ball fields.  We bought the house for the nationally ranked school system and quiet dead end street.  We knew it would be a perfect place to raise kids.  We've only lived in this house about 2 years but have made close personal friends with our neighbors.  We're really lucky to have such a great neighborhood.  There are 3 (soon to be 4) little kids right across the street from us and they can't wait for another playmate.

We own some property up North in the Mountains and our dream is to build a second home up there.   Mike's Dad built a cabin up there when Mike was just a little boy and he has spent many happy years up there.  Mike feels a special connection to the area.  It was always a constant and a sense of home as he moved from New Jersey, to 5 years in France and then finally his teenage years in Connecticut.  We've already cleared the land and Mike is trying to sort through all of his ideas to design the house.  Patty can't wait to see what he dreams up.
